Swadesi Fish N Chips (Spicy tandoori baked fish and oven baked crispy spicy sweet potato wedges)


Kasturi's recipe is the Indian version of Fish N Chips. The fish used here is Carp which is marinated and baked in an oven (tandoor) and chips are sweet potato wedges, seasoned and baked.

The recipe follows.


  • Pre heat your oven at 190 degrees for 10 minutes.
  • Cut your sweet potatoes into wedges and marinate them with olive oil, black pepper, red chili powder, garam masala (powdered whole spices, easily available in Indian stores) and bake them in the oven for 20 mins at 190 degrees. Flip the sides of wedges after a 10 minutes interval.Once these are done plate them.
  • Wash your fish pieces and dry them with paper towels. Meanwhile make Tandoori paste, take thick yogurt season it with loads of red chili powder, red chili paste, Tandoori masala (easily available in Indian stores), garam masala, salt, dash of lemon juice, 1 tsp oil, ginger garlic paste. Mix everything well and marinate the dry fish pieces with this Tandoori paste for 20 mins. Grease the baking tray with oil, place the marinated fish pieces and bake for 30 mins at 200 degrees.
  • Plate the tandoori Fish N Chips and garnish with freshly chopped coriander and slices of lemon.
