HIGHLIGHT RECIPE: CHENA KHURMA
TWCT is glad to publish their today's Highlight Recipe Chena Khurma, made by wonderful home chef Diksha Pathak Khataniar from Mumbai, India. This is a traditional Indian dessert recipe made from cottage cheese. For this interesting dessert delight please follow her recipe.
Ingredients:
1. Full cream milk 1 litre
2. vinegar/lime juice 4-5 tablespoon
Method:
Boil the milk in a saucepan then add the vinegar or lime juice, stirring the milk let it curdle. If the milk is not curdle, add more vinegar or lime juice. When milk curdled completely, remove from the stove and strain it on a muslin cloth spread in a strainer. Let it cool and squeeze up the curdled milk and remove well all the water from the cheese. Pressing the cheese made a square or rectangle shape then
keep it in refrigerator for 4-5 hours for set well.
After setting well cut cheese in some cubical shape. Now make sugar syrup for its coating.
For this ingredients are:
1. Sugar 200g
2.water 100 ml
Method:
Stirring occasionally boil the sugar and water and bring into boil until you get the sugar thread . For this taste drop a sugar syrup in a plate and carefully taste it by touch it. When it becomes sticky and get thread, that means it is ready and now add the cheese cubes and mix well it so that all the cheese cubes sugar coated nicely.
Then let it cool and here is the Chena Khurma is ready to serve.
