HIGHLIGHT RECIPE: SWEET LADDUS
TWCT is glad to publish their wonderful home chef Chinmoyee Bayan's from Bangalore, India, delicious Chickpea flour/ Gram flour Laddus and Milk Coconut Laddus as today's highlight recipe. These two different flavour sweet balls , those are traditional Indian dessert recipe and she made these perfectly.
Recipe follows:
Ingredients:
Chickpea flour laddu:
1. 1 cup chickpea flour
2. 1 cup ghee/ purified butter
3. 1/2 cup milk powder
4. 1/2 cup dry fruits (chopped)
5. 1 teaspoon cardamom powder
6. 1/4 cup dry coconut powder
7. 1/2 cup liquid milk
Method:
In a heavy bottom pan melt down the ghee. In a medium heat, stirring constantly add the chickpea flour and fry for about 20 minutes till its becomes golden brown and the nice roasted aroma comes out. Then add the milk powder, dry coconut powder, dry fruits and the cardamom powder. Stirring well add the liquid milk and mix well. After mixing well remove from the heat and let it cool for sometime, so that you can bear the temperature in your palm. Then make some equal size balls out of this mixer. And here is your Chickpea flour or Besan laddus are ready to serve.
For Milk Coconut Lddus:
Ingredients:
1. Milk powder 1 cup
2. Fresh grated coconut 2 cups
3. Ghee/ purified butter 2 tablespoon
4. Chopped dry fruits 1/2 cup
5. Cardamom powder 1 teaspoon
6. Milkmaid half cup
Method:
Heat a heavy bottom pan with ghee, fry the grated coconut in it in a low heat for 10 minutes. Then add the dry fruits, milk powder and the cardamom powder. Stir and mix well and fry for 5 minutes. After that add the milkmaid and mixing well remove from the heat. Let it cool and make some laddus out of this mixture.
