HIGHLIGHT RECIPE : CHICKEN MALVANI FLAVOUR
TWCT is glad to publish another coastal Indian delicacy Chicken Malvani , made by wonderful Home Chef Tapashi Bhagawati from Mumbai, India. This coconut flavour chicken recipe is a popular Western Indian delicacy and hope you like it.
Recipe Follows:
Lemon 1tsp
1/2tsp ginger
1tsp garlic
Onions - 2
1/2 cup coconut (shredded)
1tsp jeera
1/2tsp peppercorns
Coriander powder tsp
Chilli powder 1/2 tsp
Cinnamon 1stick
Cardamom 2-3
Cloves 4
Water as required
Salt to taste
Marinade the chicken with salt and lemon juice and keep it in the refrigerator for an hour. Heat 1tsp oil in a karhai, add jeera, peppercorns, whole spices and cook for a minute.Add sliced onion and cook till it's golden brown.Add coconut, cook till it's golden brown and blend them all together into a smooth paste. Again heat oil, saute garlic and ginger add chopped onion and cook till it gets golden brown. Add coriander powder, red chilli powder, and cook for a minute. Add the marinated chicken, mix well, add salt, and water, cover it and cook till the chicken becomes soft and tender. Lastly add the coconut paste, mix well and cook for 5 -6 minutes. And it's done.
Serve hot with steamed rice.🙂
